Who are we?

We are a boutique legal consultancy with a footprint in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and the UK and strong legal partnerships in China, Europe and the US.

We provide flexible and pragmatic legal support to both businesses and individuals on trade mark, IP/IT and general commercial matters. Unlike most legal consultancies, we offer the concept of on-demand support with tailored commitment options, making legal support accessible and affordable regardless of business size or budget.

We work with you to provide bespoke and workable solutions and strategies to protect and elevate your brand and help you to balance legal and commercial risk with your desire for growth and profit. Our consultants operate in the same way as an in-house legal function; working and supporting as a flexible and seamless extension of your business.

Why us?

Our consultants are experts in their field. With a solid foundation of law firm training and extensive in-house experience, they are geared to providing commercial and practical legal support accross a number of jurisdictions.

  • Availability:

We aren’t pressured or distracted by billable hours targets, making us more responsive and able to get to know your business.

  • Flexibility:

  • Reach:

With a footprint in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia & the UK as well as legal partnerships in China, Europe and the US, we are well placed to conduct international trade mark searches, to file national, EU and international (Madrid) trade mark applications as well as to support on projects with a global reach.

  • Your value:

We rely on recommendations to grow our business, putting excellent client experience and positive results at the top of our agenda.

  • Affordability:

Compared to Law Firms we have significantly reduced overheads, and we pass these cost savings on to you. The on-demand nature of our services also reduces the need for costly fixed-term consultancy arrangements, legal employees and Law Firm involvement.

  • We are not a Law Firm:

Re-think Legal is not a law firm:- It is a boutique legal consultancy which is neither regulated nor authorised by a local supervisory body. We do not provide regulated legal advice and do not act as solicitors or advocates when providing our services. This means that Re-think Legal and its consultants are not bound by rules issued by the relevant law society/regulatory body relating to the conduct of their business (and imposing ethical standards and a duty to act in the client’s best interests). That said, we will always act in your best interests, like any reputable business. Moreover, our consultants maintain their practicing certificates meaning that they remain subject to the professional standards required of them by the relevant licensing body.

You can’t complain to a Regulator:

If you’re unhappy with the service provided by us, you will need to raise your complaint with us directly. Because we are unregulated, you do not have the option of raising a complaint with a local regulator.

    Privilege:

Solicitors’ advice can be “privileged” which means that, in certain circumstances, it can be withheld from a court or third party in connection with legal proceedings. Advice from non-regulated advisors is not “privileged”, which means that our advice may be disclosable in evidence in the context of a legal claim. As a result, our advice and correspondence are treated in the same way as advice from your accountants, management consultants, HR consultants and anyone else who is not a regulated legal advisor such as a solicitor or advocate. Because our advice is not privileged, we do not advise on contentious matters, reducing the risk for our clients. In the event that we do come across a matter which is privileged we will recommend that you engage a law firm to preserve your rights and interests either with or without our involvement.
